What is web accessibility?

It is the Website for everybody. According to W3C, talking about Web Accessibility is talking about a universal access to the Website, independently of the kind of hardware, software and net infrastructure, language, culture, geographical location and users' capacities.

It is very important that the Web is accessible so it can be reached an equitable access and equal opportunities to the disabled people. An accessible website can help disabled people to play a more active role in the society.

In order to make the Web content accessible, there have been developed the so-called Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), which main aim it to drive the design of websites to an accessible design, reducing information barriers. The Conformity level "AA" or "Double A" verifies that all the verification steps of Priority 1 and Priority 2 defined in the Guidelines are fulfilled.
